Jessica Noble is the founder of The Old Barn Workshop in Frensham, Surrey, where she has created a welcoming space for people to learn, connect, and explore the joy of jewellery making. With a background as a professional jeweller, Jess brings a rare blend of technical expertise and teaching passion to every class.
After graduating with first-class honours in Jewellery & Silversmithing from The Cass School of Art in London, Jess built a career as an award-winning designer, exhibiting her work at galleries and shows across the UK. Her success as a maker gave her a strong foundation, but it was her love of sharing knowledge that inspired her to open the workshop.
Today, Jess is known not only for her skill at the bench but also for her approachable, encouraging teaching style. She has guided hundreds of learners, from complete beginners to returning makers, helping them grow in confidence and creativity.
The Old Barn Workshop reflects Jess’s vision: a friendly, supportive environment where you can slow down, learn new skills, and discover the satisfaction of making something by hand. Whether you’re taking your first steps in jewellery or refining your technique, Jess’s warmth, humour, and infectious enthusiasm make every class an inspiring experience.
Alongside her teaching, Jessica Noble continues to design and create her own collections, which reflect her distinctive eye for form, detail and craftsmanship. Her latest work includes Reflect: a contemporary jewellery collection that plays with light and shadow; and her exclusive sterling silver dresser collection.
Inspired by childhood memories of playing with her grandmother’s silver dressing-table treasures, Jessica’s designs bring old-fashioned glamour into the present. Each piece, from perfume bottles and mirrors to brushes, pots and scent holders, is handcrafted in solid silver and often finished with botanical-inspired details or precious stone accents. Designed to be refillable, timeless and enduring, they stand in opposition to throwaway culture, offering heirloom-quality objects that look beautiful on your dresser and last for generations.
