Service Description

1 day workshop, 6 hours Join us at the Old Barn Workshop in Frensham, Surrey for a full-day Cabochon Stone Setting workshop. This one-day course is ideal for beginners and those with some jewellery-making experience looking to develop or refresh their bezel setting skills. You’ll learn to create a secure bezel setting for a cabochon gemstone and turn it into a finished piece of silver jewellery. With expert step-by-step guidance, you’ll explore essential techniques including soldering, forming, mounting, and polishing. The workshop is relaxed and fully supported, with access to professional tools, materials, and plenty of one-to-one help. While beginners will build strong foundational skills, more experienced students are encouraged to try creative settings or experiment with unusual stone shapes. Silver and a selection of gemstones are included. Extra silver is available to purchase if you'd like to create a larger or more complex piece. You're also welcome to bring your own stones, but please check with the tutor in advance to ensure they're suitable. Whether you're looking to learn new techniques or refine your jewellery-making skills, this full-day workshop is a perfect opportunity to explore stone setting in a welcoming and inspiring environment. Good to know: This workshop can also be booked as a private party for groups, perfect for birthdays, special celebrations or creative get-togethers. If you would like to book this workshop exclusively for a group or party, please book directly through our private bookings page or contact us directly rather than booking through this page. What Should You Bring? Since the classes take place in a professional workshop environment, things can get a little messy! We recommend bringing an apron, wearing old clothes, and opting for closed-toe shoes. If you have long hair, remember to bring a hairband. A notebook, pen or pencils, and a small container or toolbox to store your work will also come in handy. We can’t wait to see you there! The Fine Print - Classes require a minimum number of participants to run and may be canceled if this number isn’t reached. In such cases, you will be contacted and fully refunded. - Due to the nature of the workshop, participants must be aged 16 or over unless pre-assessed and approved by the tutor. - We offer step-free access. If you have a disability, learning difficulty, or require additional support, please let us know in advance so we can discuss your specific needs.
