Wax Carved Rings for Casting

1st Workshop - Wax Carving
2nd Workshop -  Finishing Silver Casts
 
Learn the tactile and surprisingly fun art of wax carving before having your wax creation cast in Silver where you will return for the second session and learn how to 'clean up' your raw silver casts into beautifully finished rings. A traditional tecnique, you will first be guided in measuring your ring and marking it out on the wax blank before going through to learn basic carving techniques and creating one of your own distinctive and gorgeous silver ring.
 
The workshop includes materials and silver casting for one small-meduim ring*
 * An additional silver fee is chargable for extra rings or larger designs.
 
Class atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, as well as having lots of individual help and support from the tutor and good access to tools and equipment.
 
What will I need to bring?
With classes being in a professional workshop environment, things can get a little bit messy so we suggest that you bring an apron, wear old clothes and closed toe shoes. If you have long hair - bring a hairband! It might also help to bring a notebook, pen/pencils and a container or small tool box to keep your work in.

Please note that classes can be subject to minimum numbers and can be cancelled if not reached. In this event, you will be contacted and refunded.
 
Due to the nature of workshop, we cannot permit any one under the age of 16 to take part in the classes unless assessed and agreed in advance by the tutor.
 
We do have step free access but if you have a disability, learning difficulty or need extra support, pease let us know before attending and we can discuss your specific requirements.
